New Course: Logistics and Supply Chain
Written by Valentina Zajackowski
Logistics and supply chain professionals today face a dual challenge: reducing their carbon footprint whilst adapting to the growing impacts of climate change. Between regulatory pressure, customer expectations and climate risks to supply chains, sector professionals must fundamentally rethink their practices.
But how does one measure transport emissions? What concrete actions can be implemented to decarbonise warehouses? How can the resilience of one’s supply chain be strengthened in the face of climate uncertainties? These are all questions that the Climate School has tackled with this new course “I work in logistics and supply chain”.
Content designed by and for professionals in these fields
For this course “I work in logistics and Supply Chain”, the Climate School has brought together professionals from these sectors as well as academic experts to create content that is both rigorous and grounded in field reality.
We have Anicia Jaegler, Professor in Sustainable Supply Chain Management at KEDGE Business School, Elisabeth Delval, VP Sustainability at Forvia Group, as well as Cécile Bray, Director of the Climate and Environment Programme at Geodis, who share their expertise along with field experience feedback.
The course is structured around seven chapters covering all action levers:
- The challenges of sustainable logistics: understanding the environmental impact of these activities and conversely the effects of climate change on operations.
- Decarbonisation strategy: from measuring the carbon footprint to implementing a roadmap
- Decarbonising transport: five transport decarbonisation levers, accompanied by concrete examples
- Decarbonisation case study: Forvia’s experience feedback
- Adapting one’s logistics chain, identifying risks: anticipating the impacts that one’s supply chain may face
- Adapting one’s logistics chain, improving resilience: adapting one’s logistics operations to the increase in frequency and intensity of climate risks
- Cross-cutting levers and other environmental challenges: packaging management, circular economy, collaboration, and technological solutions
An accessible, engaging and impactful training programme
Designed in a modular fashion, this course adapts to your needs and can be completed over several sessions to facilitate assimilation. It combines videos, quizzes and additional resources to offer a complete and engaging learning experience.
- For each chapter, a supplementary resources sheet is available with examples, testimonials and analyses to explore the topics covered in greater depth
- Four cross-cutting thematic sheets: Bonus resources allow for deeper exploration of specific subjects such as warehouse decarbonisation, impact mapping or reshoring.
- An “experience feedback” sheet with testimonials from professionals on the best practices they recommend and the obstacles they may have faced
- A KeyTakeAway Sheet, which is a summary bringing together the essential points of the course to keep an operational aide-memoire to hand.
